Hello,
We have new transtibial amputee who we are fitting with his preparatory prosthesis.
He has a vertical scar from a bypass operation from the distal posterior thigh area down to the distal end of the limb posteriorly. We are fitting him with an alpha liner, and have him in a dynamic check socket. He is experiencing intolerable pressure over this area, primarily popliteal area. The liner alone does not cause any discomfort. There is no walnut or flattening in the posterior wall, per OWW guidelines. Multiple adjustments have been tried to accomodate, with little difference noted by the patient.
Aside from joints and corset, any other suggestions? Anyone had a similar case?
Thanks
