Title:

OPINION: OANDP-L Acceptable Use Guidelines

Text:

Paul,

I would like to publicly commend you for your responsiveness to the issues
of concern that have been raised over the increasing number of irrelevant and
unprofessional posts that have been escalating on OANDP-L. You have
obviously labored over this in thought and with great detail.

Your response to the issues of concern are thoroughly and reasonably
addressed with the Acceptable Use Guidelines you have now established. I trust
all will be accepting of the updated guidelines and follow them accordingly!
OANDP-L has been an excellent vehicle for the exchange of relevant clinical
and professional information, as you had originally intended, since its
inception in 1995.

I commend you for addressing this matter appropriately and for the vision
you had that created OANDP-L as a vehicle for communication amongst your
colleagues, as well as those with a distinct interest of expanding the knowledge of
all involved in the provision of O&P health care.

I would encourage all of our national O&P organizations and consumer groups,
who have utilized this forum, to publicly come forward with their support of
the OANDP-L Acceptable Use Guidelines and encourage their members to
follow them accordingly. It would be a tremendous loss to all involved in this
wonderful profession if open exchange of information provided through OANP-L
became non-existent.

Thank you again for your responsiveness to the issues of concern!
