We have been contacted by a 52 year old below / knee amputee in Trinidad. We
would like to contact a qualified prosthetist there who maybe able to
evaluate him as a good candidate for prosthetic rehabilitation and provide
an estimate of cost. Please reply if you know of anyone that could evaluate
this active gentleman.
The Barr Foundation Amputee Assistance Fund was established in 1995 through
grants from the Barr Foundation. The mission of the fund is to provide
assistance to amputees that cannot afford limbs, have no other financial
resources, and to promote quality prosthetic care for all amputees. This is
accomplished directly by providing reimbursement for materials and
maintenance costs to prosthetist that provide limbs to amputees who have no
other source of funding.
This program is a cooperative effort between the 'Fund' and the amputee's
prosthetist to improve the quality of life of the amputee.
Benefactor sponsorships may also be made available to those amputees whom
are not USA citizens and have individuals, family, churches or business
organizations to make tax deductible donations to the Barr Foundation whose
funds can be specifically utilized for a select applicant.
The Barr Foundation has been able to provide prosthetic rehabilitation to
over 1200 amputees in the USA and abroad whom otherwise could not afford it.
We are able to do this thru the help of sponsoring prosthetists and our
Where Hope Meets Help Donor Club members, listed on our web site.
Thank you,
