Durability of suspension sleeves remains an issue for us with TT expulsion
suction suspension for high activity patients, (no problem for low/moderate
activity). Several of our patients have rejected pin for expulsion.
Ossur's Seal-In liner not option for many patients but would welcome
input. Looking for ideas (or confirm we're not missing anything) to
increase longevity of suspension sleeves: trim-lines well rounded, slightly
thickened, no more proximal than necessary, attach gators and/or have
patient reflect sock over proximal border, well fitting sockets
accommodative of flexion, patient instructed no kneeling, avoid end range of
flexion when possible, etc. We continue to use and have tried MANY
suction-type sleeves (O.B., O.W.W., Ossur, Alps and others). Any consensus
on most durable/sufficiently flexible sleeve? Does sleeve need to be
flexible to accommodate flexion? Any ideas on socket design or trim-line
mods? What's relative experience with Dual Wall designs, those similar to
late TEC/O.B.'s c-fab offerings? No pin sales pitches if you please. Thanx
in advance.
