I am also pleased with recent advocacy and movement by some to help and
provide the much needed support for reform in the O&P industry.

Unfortunately it took the real threat of elimination of ALL independent
providers for some to act.

In this case, it is again a patient leading the providers to advocate and
address the monopoly contraversy.

Thank you Dan Gottry,Jan Saunders and sadly only a handful of other
providers who have openly questioned and retaliated against the industry
conflicts and monopoly efforts that have been in place for a long time, but
have more recently surfaced with concern of Hanger's wholly owned subsidiary
Linkia and network contracting and monopoly strategies thru their 620
facility network AND their wholly owned subsidiary distribution facility.

Apathy is dominant in your profession.Providers speak out.

You should be more concerned with the 'elimination' of your practices as the
result of the complete lack of funding by third party payers, than the fear
of possible retaliation by distributors in increasing your costs of
components and supplies.
