Subject: MENINGOMYELOCELE

Dear Sir/ Madam,

This is with reference to surfing on the net and reading your site.

My son is almost 5 years old, suffering from Meningomyelocele by birth.
He cannot walk, has no feeling in his lower limbs and has severe bowel
problem. Has been operated for Patch up at the back, V.P Shunt
operation.

At present has severe Constipation problems and my wife has to extract
out Stool, He has severe Drop Foots.

We are in the process of having daily Physiotherapy for him. For his
mobility we have even arranged a sports wheel chair. we have also
organised AFOS and HKFOS, for no use as nobody had the idea to guide
us as to how to train him to walk or stand in them. As we are living in
a country(Pakistan) with very little resources and knowledge about te
Above Mentioned problem, since his birth we were not guided properly as
to how to approach this problem.

He is going to school and with great will power he wants to really stand
and walk like anyone else. Upon seing your website we were very much
inclined to mail you and ask you for some guide lines as to how to make
our son independent in life.

Kindly regard this email as urgent and send us your reply at the
earliest so that we could start something for our son.

Regards,

Faizan Ahmed
(Father)
