Dear List Members,
I just received the following information regarding the Wisconsin Highland
Games to pass along to one of our patients and thought I would pass in on to
all you, as well.
Even though it is a rather short notice, possibly you might have someone who
would be interested in this type of competition?

Please forward this information to any one you think might be interested in
competing in the second annual Para-Heavy Scottish and Irish field athletics
throwing events From the Chair at the Wisconsin Highland Games. We also
have a competition class for Athletes that wish to compete standing with
prosthetics.

WISCONSIN HIGHLAND GAMES HEAVY EVENT REGISTRATION
The remaining positions of the total 20 slots will be awarded to the fist
Athletes responding, IN ORDER of the date/time the registration form and fee is
post marked upon reseat. ALL Athlete MUST SABMIT a REGISTRATION / WAVER FORM
AND FEE to confirm attendance, YOUR form and fee MUST BE RECEVED BY FRIDAY
AUGEST 25th 2006 to hold your slot. Send a total of $30.00 if you plan to throw
in both event competitions.
Old School (Pro/Am) All Comers Open Caledonian (aka Scottish or Highland)
Heavy Event Competition on Saturday September 2nd 2006, consisting of the
following events:
Overall Event Competition:
Heavy (22 lb) Standing Stone Put (as at Braemar), with out approach or follow
Light (16 lb) Open Stone Put, with 7ft 6in approach, with out follow
Heavy (56 lb) Weight Throw for Distance, with 9 ft approach, with out follow
Light (28 lb) Weight Throw for Distance, with 9 ft approach, with out follow
Heavy (22 lb) Scottish Hammer Throw, standing, with out approach or follow
Light (16 lb) Scottish Hammer Throw, standing, with out approach or follow
Qualifying Caber Tern and Championship Caber Tern
Heavy (56 lb) Weight Toss over the Bar, with out tern of the body
Challenge Event (1/2 Keg over the bar or Farmers Walk) looking for sponsor
As well as an Old School (Pro/Am) All Comers Open Hibernian (aka Irish or
Gaelic) Heavy Event Competition on Sunday, September 3rd 2006 consisting of the
following events:
Overall Event Competition:
Light (7 lb) Winding Weight Hurl, with out approach, with follow
Light (16 lb) Ball from the 7 ft Square, with out follow
Heavy (56 lb) Pushing Weight from the shoulder, with out approach, with
follow
Light (28 lb) Pushing Weight from the shoulder, with out approach, with
follow
Heavy (56 lb) Weight Throw, one hand the Whirl Again unlimited run &
follow
Light (16 lb) Celtic Hammer, from the 9-foot cercal, with out follow
Heavy (56 lb) Weight Sling, Between the Legs with out approach or follow
Heavy Weight for Height, to strike a 2 ft wooden disk, from the 7 ft cercal
Challenge Caber
The Athlete Order of Rotation for Both event Competitions will be based on
the date/time your registration form and fee is post marked upon reseat. The
earliest post marked registration received will be placed in reverse order,
stating on the bottom of the list and will be the last to throw, the latest
post marked registration received will be the 1st to throw. So get your event
Registration form and fee in the mail today. A final List of athletes competing
in both events will be posted in order of rotation on the NASGA board Friday
August 25th 2006.
