This week's Barr Foundation salute goes to Jan Treadway of North Carolina
for her recent donation of a C-Leg prosthesis to our organization, in memory
of her recently deceased husband.

We are soliciting for appropiate candidates, referred from certified C-leg
providers, to submit applicants for the microprocessor-controlled knee
device.

No service warranties nor manufacturers representations or grantees will be
provided and the applicant must execute waivers to any future claims or
liability issues.

The sponsoring prosthetist , is required to be a certified C-leg
practitioner and be willing to examine and review the unit as to its current
workable and functioning condition and submit individual appropriate
applicants whom otherwise have no funding, and would be good candidates for
this hi-tech prosthetic device.

They are appropriate for people who:

* Are transfemoral amputees, including those with bilateral limb
deficiencies or hip disarticulation amputations

* Are involved in activities that require a high level of stance
stability

* Walk or have the potential to walk on uneven terrain

* Frequently descend stairs or negotiate slopes

The C-Leg is Ideal for people who:

* Currently are or have the potential to be unlimited community
ambulatory

roller-blading, or extended periods of standing

walks up to or more than 3 miles/5 km a day.

safety as well as efficient swing phase control

providers, got into this business to help people, that you are accomplishing
allot and are appreciated.

With your help and support, the Barr Foundation has helped over 1200
amputees become whole again who otherwise would not have the financial
