Dear ListServe:
Has anyone figured out an acceptable technique for vacuum forming
copolymer thermoplastic sheets over polyisocyanurate (carving foam)? I
realize the Endolite latex cones, or a similar product, work well for
prosthetic sockets, but we are looking for alternatives. The primary
problem is evidently heat related and the latex cones serve to insulate
the foam and also provide a nice surface finish on the copolymer. Any
help with a good techique will be appreciated.
