ORIGINAL POST:
Does anyone have any experience with fitting a prosthesis for someone with Bullous Pemphigoid? It is an autoimmune disorder which results in full body blister like eruptions. This is a chronic, edematous and itchy condition which leaves the epidermis very sensitive to abrasion of any kind. Only treatment is oral prednisone and topical steroidal creams for temporary relief from the itching and reduction of the edema.
This is a new amputation secondary to squamous cell carcinoma. Shrinker wear is well tolerated on the residual limb, except for above the trochanter and the waist belt.
