Hi Michael,
I have had many patients with the inability to tolerate anything tighter
than a sock. I have taken folks out of gel liners and TSB sockets and gone
back to a pelite liner lined with leather and then varnished to help with
shear forces. Then try to fit at 3-5 ply this has helped a lot of those
chronic pain sufferers.
I would like to see some studies done on the amps who have suffered from
chronic pain with limbs which were trying to be salvaged and ended up as
candidates for amputation, and their phantom pain levels vs. those who had
clean elective amputations, or those with diabetes vs. chronic pre-amp pain.
In our clinic it seems that many of those who had the chronic pre-amp pain
end up having extreme phantom pain. What has your experience been?
Hope you can find a solution for this individual.
Sincerely,
