Symes and canadian type obturated symes have been around for a very long
time. Some other versions for suspension have also been around for some
time but none really provides adequate suspension and weight bearing and as
result the distal end of amputation most often ends up shifting for a lack
of better explaination. The proposed design will keep the distal end in
place and keep it from shifting. Patient would like to step into a
prosthesis and simply walk away. Proposed sthesis probably will suspend
well without lids and flaps and straps. Prosthetists interested in
colaboration may write to me to set up a protocol for BETA TESTING
publishing and spreading the technique around. In fact the approach may
work equally well with knee disarticulation also.
