Roy Snelson, CPO(E)

The passing of Roy Snelson, CPO(E), on Monday, April 24, should remind
the orthotic and prosthetic profession of the enormous contributions
that he made to improve the careers of countless practitioners now and
in the future. He was a true visionary in so many areas of our
profession: patient care delivery models, progressive fabrication,
technological advancements, and professional standards, to name a few.

Roy had the ability to simplify the complex. I was very fortunate to
have worked for Roy for over 16 years and during that time he provided
leadership, opportunity, and mentorship both professionally and
personally. His generosity and caring for family, friends and employees
was legendary.

Roy was an AOPA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient in 1999. What he
gave to this profession in his life time has greatly improved the career
elevation of so many other lives. I am just one of a large number of
people to say, thank you Roy Snelson, CPO.
