AK Truck Driver

Description

Title:

AK Truck Driver

Text:

I have a Vocational Rehabiltation client who has a left tranfemoral
amputation, wears an AK prosthesis and currently uses a Total Knee. He will soon go
to a truck driving school and train to be a semi-truck driver. He will need
to use a clutch, apparently even in an automatic transmission vehicle you
must engage the clutch at some point. I am looking for anyone with expereince
in what type of knee would best help him in pursuing this career- Is there any
one particular knee unit that people have found successful that allows him
to work a clutch in a large truck (I have no idea if they are much different
than a clutch in a standard transmission car or light truck) Any successes
would help me help this young man get a job that pays more than $8.00 an hour
to support his family-
thanks in advance
