I am inquiring on behalf of a patient who is originally from the African nation of Togo. He is involved with an organization that provides wheelchairs to people in need. His organization recently received some standard wheelchairs, which of course was great, however the terrain in Togo is not conducive to the standard wheelchair. The patient told me, he has found that the hand cycle type chairs work better for the terrain. He also said they have the raw materials to build the frames but need help welding the frames and putting the hand cycles together, as well as spare wheels.
Does anyone know of a resource or possibly someone with experience with hand cycle wheelchairs that may be able to help this gentleman out?
Thanks for you help in advance,
Jeff Pilgrim, C.O.
