I need urgent help.
I am a 3rd year orthotics & prosthetics student with an assignment which i
need info for.
I have to do the assignment in typed format, and then manufacture a
prototype (test socket).
I have the following information to work with:
Pt. 18 yr old male with partial phocomelia of the humerus. The partial
hand and wrist joint is active. Your prosthesis for him should firstly
address cosmesis and symmetrical arm length, but secondly still be
functional. Design a prosthesis for the pt.'s ADL's. Revision is not an
option. A Muenster type socket is advised, the hand may be incorporated in
the wineglass position if need be...

What we will receive to work with:
A standard harness system
A voluntary closing hand
A standard wrist unit
The test socket can only be vacuumformed.

The following points need to be discussed:
1) The evaluation of the patient (15 marks)
2) The casting for the specific prosthesis (20 marks)
3) The design of the prosthesis (50 marks)
4) Fabrication criteria for the prosthesis (15 marks)

I have the info for the evaluation and most of the casting under control,
but am strugling with the design and fabrication criteria thereof.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could help me.
I am struggling quite a bit.
