The website for Frogskin prosthetic retro-fit is located at www.taylorcraftinc.com. The product is applicable to any non-polypropylene socket. Technique sensitive? Yes, in the sense that after Frogskin is applied to the proximal interior portion of the socket the applicant must work quickly to seat the residual limb, fully weighted into the socket and kept still, before the (approximate) seven minute hardening time is up. Waited too long? No problem. Sand it out and start over. Frogskin is permanent yet very malleable to sandpaper, emery and buffing. If one is applying it to a shuttle-lock socket then one must read and follow the instructions carefully so as to not flood and foul the lock. In that event you'll be sorry! It works with pin and non-pin gel liners, or even the older bk strap-ons with wool ply. The Frogskin process can be reapplied to a socket multiple times over the years to accommodate frequent small or large residual limb volume changes. However, it!
  is only
second best to a new socket after ample loss or atrophy. It is not meant to replace a brand new socket for the patient that is sufficiently insured or can afford prosthetics out of their own pockets. If you are a prosthetist losing your business because of all the donated sockets you make for your less fortunate clients, Frogskin is your best alternative. It is the mirror fit alternative for the indigent and uninsured who have suffered volume loss in their original sockets. It has wonderful application for third world countries whose handicapped require donated limbs. Frogskin can give an amputee child who walks in a donated socket a new life in a custom fit. Thank you all for inquiring. Matt Taylor (Amputee), Pres. TaylorCraft Inc.
