ACA Announces Free Membership Program for Patients
In an effort to reach patients as early as possible in the
rehabilitation process, the Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) is
pleased to announce a one-year pilot program, offering a free, one-year
membership for patients of ACA member facilities.
The ACA and its facility members have long been partners in patient
education. Since launching this program in February 2006, over 200 ACA
member facilities have requested more than 6,720 free, individual
membership packets. In just one month, the ACA has already awarded 40
individual amputees with a year of free membership through this program.
This pilot program is as easy as 1-2-3 for facilities to implement!
One, become an ACA member or renew your ACA membership. Two, request
your supply of free, one-year individual membership packets, and three,
distribute these packets to your patients!
O&P facilities throughout the United States are encouraged to renew or
become members of the ACA to receive this excellent educational benefit
for your patients. Other benefits include bulk copies of inMotion
magazine and a reduced rate for all employees at each ACA member
facility to ACA's Annual Educational Conference & Exposition.
A one-year facility membership is available for $200, or $375 for a
two-year facility membership. Membership may be purchased online
through the ACA Marketplace (www.amputee-coalition.org/marketplace), a
secure site that accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Interested facilities may also purchase their membership over the
telephone by calling 888/AMP-KNOW (267-5669).
This pilot program will be in effect until December 31, 2006, and is
only available in the United States, but with your support, the ACA will
be able to make this a permanent facility member benefit.
Founded in 1986, the Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) is a national
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The mission of the ACA is to reach out to people with limb loss and to
empower them through education, support and advocacy. Through a
cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), the ACA maintains the National Limb Loss Information
Center (NLLIC), the nation's most comprehensive source of information
for people living with limb differences. For more information, visit
