Dear oandp-l subscribers,
I hope that everyone is enjoying the listserv. There have been a lot of
postings that have been held up lately for the simple reason that the person
who posted the question did not sign their name, credentials and location to
the message. The location is not required, but it is very helpful in
presenting some perspective for the rest of the subscribers. Name and
credentials are expected on all postings.
For those who are summarizing responses and submitting them to the listserv,
it would also be extremely beneficial to the subscribers if the names of the
people that provided the response were kept in the summary of responses.
Unless a person requests that their name be kept out of a response summary
please put this information in with the responses. Keeping the responders'
names in the summary provides the group with the name of a person that they
could follow up with if there were any additional questions. This also
helps aid in providing the readers of the list with a reference as to the
qualifications of the individual providing the response. There are many
difficult clinical questions that are asked, and the professional community
of orthotists and prosthetists will benefit by knowing who is proving the
feedback in order to help determine the credibility of the response.
Please continue to respect the guidelines of no commercial postings on the
listserv. If it's for sale, it's probably commercial. If your company
benefits from it, it's probably commercial. Please use sound judgment and
feel free to contact me directly with any concerns or questions.
A few other questions arise frequently, and the responses follow:
For those of you who wish to receive a copy of the message that you posted
when it is sent, this option can be set up by sending a message to :
<Email Address Redacted> and in the body of the message type: set oandp-l
REPro
Be sure to do that from the email address that you send postings from.
For those of you who wish to receive only one posting per day that has a
compilation of all the messages from the day, send a message to:
<Email Address Redacted> and in the body of the message type: set oandp-l
digest
Thanks for helping to keep this listserv a valuable resource for the
profession by freely sharing your clinical and business expertise. There
are currently over 3300 subscribers representing many aspects of the O&P
world. OANDP-L continues to be an effective tool to help shape our
profession and connect us in ways never imagined before.
