My patient has asked me to look for additional suggestions on how to
handle his inguinal hernia. His hernia hangs down 12 and measures 10
3/8 in circumference in the middle of the mass. The mass is firm to
the touch and cannot be reduced. I can reduce the length to 9 with
distal compression. He cannot have a surgical repair due to his other
medical conditions.
I originally tried compression hose, bicycle pants type with pouch, but
the mass pulled the pants distal and did not work. I am now going to
try a pouch with a waistbelt and suspenders. When the mass is in or out
of the pouch, the mass hangs down one of his pantlegs.
Patient is on diuretics and needs to urinate often. Looking for any
additional suggestions. I have photos for anyone with a suggestion that
thinks that they would benefit from a photo.
