A local amputee support group has asked me to come in and do a brief show
and tell of accessory items for amputees and/or prosthesis-users that might
not be customarily obtained from prosthetists. An abbreviated list of the
things I'm currently considering are waterproof coverings, decorative sleeve
coverings, full-suction donning aids (other than stockinette or compressive
bandages), shoe accessories to improve traction, etc. Do you have any
suggestions of items you may have offered or suggested to patients in the
past? Have you encountered any unique devices or modifications that are
geared specifically towards improving the lives of amputees or
prosthesis-users? Any suggestions or information including manufacturer
contact information, websites, and/or brief descriptions is greatly
appreciated.
Much thanks,
