I'm seeing an AK patient who has a very conical RL with extensive scarring, including in the scarpa's area. I usually trim trans-femoral liners to several inches below the proximal trimlines of the socket. In this case I'm wondering if leaving the liner high, to act as a barrier between the socket and scar tissue, is more appropriate. What silicone liner have you found that will protect the RL, and can be extended as high as the proximal brim of the socket? Are there other solutions to this problem?
