ORIGINAL POST:
I have a patient in Horton's Stance Control knee joints and he likes to
frequent the desert. Has anyone experimented with a way to cover the
joints to keep sand, etc. sealed out? Two things that come to mind are
Saran Wrap or Theraband. I'll post responses.
Thanks,

RESPONSES:
How about Coban? It is stretchy and conformable, and I think it would
cling
better than the saran wrap. It is a 3M product that is sold in rolls at
the same places that would carry gauze, ace wraps and other wound care
supplies. I have seen it in pharmacies and at wound clinics as well.
You could sew neoprene into a sleeve extending above and below the
joint and taping the edges down.
If your reply to me comes back undeliverable, please forward that
error message to our IT guy, Bruce.
