Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee is seeking an Instructor for the O&P
Registered Assistant Program. Please refer to the following employment

EMPLOYMENT NOTICE
POSITION: Instructor/Orthotics & Prosthetics Program
STATUS: Faculty, full-time Position, Eight-Month
Appointment
(Summer Employment by Separate
Agreement, But Usually Available)
SALARY: Negotiable
START DATE: As Soon As Possible After Approval
THE INITIAL REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS WILL BEGIN AROUND FEBRUARY 1, 2006
AND CONTINUE UNTIL THE POSITION IS FILLED.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Instruct students associated with Orthotics &
Prosthetics at the technical college level. Responsible for course
procedures, objectives, and lesson plans as well as equipment
maintenance, student records and shop operation. Major emphasis of
responsibility will be in the areas of Orthotic and Prosthetic
technology teaching clinical assessment, practice management, patient
management, technical implementation techniques and professional
responsibility. Additionally, this position provides students
advisement, promotes student recruitment and industry relations. The
full time teaching load may include daytime, late afternoon, evening or
weekend classes on and off campus. (NOTE: Omission of a specific
statement of duties does not exclude them if the work is similar or
logically related to the position.)
SUPERVISION: Receives direct supervision from the Orthotic and
Prosthetic Director and Health & Environmental Technologies Division
Chair.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be ABC Certified practitioner or
equivalent. Must be either ABC Certified Orthotist (CO), Prosthetist
(CP), or both (CPO). Must be in good standing with the American Board
for Certification in Orthotics & Prosthetics, Inc. Proven successful
industry experience beyond the minimum of three years may be considered
for educational requirements equivalence. Final candidates will be
required to complete a battery of characteristics analyses instruments
and to prepare and deliver a 30 minute instructional activity.
Successful applicant must comply with the IRCA. A background check will
be arranged through Human Resources.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Extensive industry and teaching experience.
Demonstrated excellence in people and problem-solving skills with at
least three years supervisory or equivalent experience.
OTHER PREFERENCE: Preference will be given to candidates with
certification in Pedorthics Footwear Technology. If you have a
