Here's another creative response that I received regarding the need for a
durable BK suspension sleeve:
Recently we provided a laminated slip cover that
installed over the suspension sleeve and was affixed to the socket with a
couple machine screws. To fabricate we simply casted over the setup while
the client was wearing it. The trim lines are left just proximal to the
inner socket trim lines and you can fabricate a number of them at the same
time. It may be more trouble than the worth of the neo sleeves (we used
this setup to protect the very expensive suction liners for Harmony socket),
but you perhaps could integrate a knee pad into the slip cover as well to
protect the clients pants.
Thanks, Vince
