AOPA has read on this listserv that some O&P professionals may be
experiencing frustration with the grace period elimination as well as
accessing the 2006 fee schedule and obtaining the 2006 coding updates.
AOPA experts communicate important information about these issues and
others via the AOPA In Advance biweekly members-only newsletter and the
monthly O&P Almanac magazine.
AOPA first published the grace period elimination announcement in the
Oct. 19, 2004 AOPA In Advance and the November 2004 O&P Almanac. Since
then, AOPA has published reminders about the grace period elimination,
coding changes and the updated fee schedule in November and December
issues of the AOPA In Advance and O&P Almanac. If your company is an
AOPA member, you can access back issues of the AOPA In Advance at
www.AOPAnet.org.
Also, AOPA members have unlimited phone and e-mail access to ask the
AOPA reimbursement experts, Joe McTernan (ext. 211) and Virginia Torsch
(ext. 212) any O&P coding, billing and reimbursement question.
