The Barr Foundation, incorporated in Illinois, would appreciate receiving
the prosthetic devices you are referring to in your below inquiry
specifically for our third world efforts further described at our web site
at www.oandp.com/barr Dollar donations are also gratefully received and will
be receipted with our federal tax ID #.
When in doubt of reusable condition for reapplication ,do not send!
All good condition stump socks, sheaths, shrinkers can be toughly washed and
reused.
Presently we provide prosthetic rehabilitation to amputees in the USA and
thru assistance programs with Rotary Clubs in Guyana, South America and
Honduras,Central America,Mexico as well as domestically thru USA sponsoring
prosthetists (over 1200 amputees sponsored by 270 prosthetists to date!) see
www.oandp.com/resources/organizations/barr/list.htm and
<URL Redacted>
We also accommodate other legitimate non profits requests in donating
selected components to their specific efforts.
Upon the donations arriving to the below address we provide you with our fed
tax ID# so that you may donate may determine value for tax purposes.
We don't not provide receipts for any given amount for in-kind donations
since the items are used, and tax laws are constantly changing .
The donors may determine, thru their own tax accountants, if there are
possible tax benefits for their prosthetic donations.
However, more importantly, I can assure you that any amputee that we use the
components for will not be charged any fees whatsoever.
If you have any additional questions or concerns please don't hesitate to
contact me.
Thank you for thinking of the Barr Foundation as a potential recipient of
the donations.
