FLASH UPDATE:
Last week's tribute to Peruvian and amputee activist Julio Montoya and to
benefactor Michael Pulaski and his wife for funding 6 year old Marilyn
Carmen Rodriguez Camino in Peru, with a prosthesis.
Marilyn is so happy, walking around, climbing around, dancing, .... It was
really great to see her and her parents! It was also really great to spend
some time with Julio, he is truly a remarkable man reported Michael Pulaski
.
Watch the upcoming edition of the O&P Edge for the full story and pictures.
Each week the Barr Foundation sends a post and salute to honor a person (s)
or Hope Donor (s) whom has made a great difference in a life.
This week's tribute initiated from members of the a Belmont California
Rotary Club nearly 3 years ago, as a inspired humanitarian effort, and by
Barr Foundation fellow board director, Wayne Koniuk CP of San Franciso
Prosthetic Services and Joseph Hoffman who set up a college fund for El
Salvadorian, 15 year old A/K Melissa Esquivel.
Wayne is providing, for a second time, at no cost, the prosthetic
rehabilitation old Melissa initially from El Salvador
Otto Bock Healthcare is considering donating the 3R60 knee unit to replace
the safety knee she was provided upon her first prosthetic assistance
effort 3 years ago.
Such Whole Again stories hopefully will help make your weekend and to
remind you, knowing that most of you whom became professionals and industry
O&P providers, got into this business to help people, and that you are
accomplishing allot and are appreciated by those that you help.
