A group in the U.S. is working to procure prosthetic limbs of all types
(hands, feet, legs) and related prosthetic materials and supplies to be
shipped to Pakistan to be used to make limbs for victims of the
earthquake. Estimates are 15,000-20,000 amputees are in need, and that
number could grow as infections result in additional amputations. The
group needs to get the word out in a far-reaching way to the many
prosthetic-related businesses in the U.S. that would be willing and able
to donate the necessary prosthetics if they're made aware of the need.
