Thanks for the replies for the original request:

PCL lock/unlock and variable ROM hinge for a functional KO

After the assistance I will be manufacturing a custom KO using the ? CTi or Bregg post op hinge with co-poly shells specific to preventing posterior tibial sag.

Thanks

Howdy:

I have had similar frustrations finding a hinge for use in custom fab. If you find one let me know please. By the way, I think the Breg version is better than Don Joy's, cheaper too.

Hi Ben,
We also carry a ROM brace from Innovation Sports that has the quick
lock/unlock feature that then returns to the fixed ROM.
Typical looking ROM joint however.
Not aware of any joint only offerings out there that fit your requirement.
OPTION ROM Knee

Did you try Post-op Knee bracing, such as T-scope Post-op from Breg,
inc.? Their web site is <URL Redacted>.

Ben-
Look at the instructions for donning a don joy defiance. The key is to push
the uprights posteriorly while tightening the proximal calf strap and
pushing the uprights anteriorly while tighening the distal anterior thigh
strap. This way, you can inform the surgeon that the hinges have nothing to
do with what he is trying to accomplish. The issue is a donning issue. The
important part is that the straps must be secured to both the medial and
lateral uprights either by velcro or chafe. For a soft orthosis, try the dj
playmaker or the Townsend sport series. The townsend sport series will also
give you both flexion and extension adjustment without having to dismantle
the hinge or paying extra.

ORIGINAL POST:
I have a request from a surgeon for a knee orthosis to be used post-op on a combined PCL/ACL injury. He wants specific anteriorly directed forces to prevent posterior tibial sag for the PCL.

He is also requesting a hinge that we can lock in at a specific angle (ie 30deg) but can then be unlocked (with an easy click -disengage opperation) and still have restricted ROM settings, ie 30-90.

I have found a post op KO by DJ that will do this and could use the hinge in our custom manufacture.

My question is - is there a hinge out ther that would be better in a custom/funtional KO. Have searched the usuall suppliers, Bock, Becker, USMC, OTS, Fillauer.

Any suggestions??
