ORIGINAL POST
I'm wondering how list member practitioners deal with the cost vs.
reimbursement challenge posed if a California Compression or Cybertec
1000 LS support is provided. I'll post responses.

RESPONSES
This is exactly why I developed our new LumboLux(TM) Orthosis. It costs
you
$62 ($77 after the end of this year) and bills out at something around
$350
(K0636). It's a brand new product, so we have not yet gotten
confirmation
from SADMERC, but the code is obvious - the LumboLux is functionally and
structurally identical to at least one other orthosis that has been
awarded
that coding. We don't yet have the LumboLux on our website, but we will
shortly. In the
meantime, simply call 1-800-613-8852 for details and a brochure.
Very easy. If you feel the Medicare allowable is unfair, don't accept
assignment and collect from the patient what you feel is fair. You are
not forced to accept assignment unless you are a preferred provider and
I can't see any benefit to that. Until we stop accepting these
unreasonable fees, nothing will change.
I fit a Cybertech LS two weeks ago and ran into the same situation. I
did--at least to me--the right thing. Once again I got beat-up by
Medicare!
