Thanks to those who took the time to aid my patients. The replys below
covers (get it?) the submissions received.

Original Question: With winter coming on I have had a few requests for
an overboot for CAM
walker type appliance. I know this is a short term item but when you
work out-of-doors, a day with wet socks is a long one. If there is a
source for something more durable than a shower cover please advise.

Thanks for the help.

May I suggest a couple of layers of thick socks for warmth then a
standard rubber boot. Is the appliance a Westinghouse, Hamilton Beach
or Hotpoint? And is the appliance a traditional white color? Ha ha,

Bledsoe Brace has both winter and rain covers available... call
1-800-527-3666 or look them up on the web.

You may try NEOs,. Post if you need a phone number, I will have to get
it from work. Good luck.

I believe that DonJoy makes a cover for their cam type walkers. Another
option may be NEOS overboots for shoes.

There is a product called Xerosox. Which is a thick rubber/latex sleeve
that had a one way valve and a pump. We use these over pop cast and a
variety of braces. See www.Xerosox.com for info.

I forget the name of it, but Toenges shoe store in fort wayne In. had a
great golosh style boot. I used the golosh to cover CROW boots. The
golosh was fashionable, made of gortex, and had a very sturdy rugged
sole. I think it cost about $50 for a pair.

  Toenges number is 1-800-745-3295.
