Mr. Cartaya CPO,
The philosophy to not hold up a large claim for a small amount, is wrong and
here is why.
1st - We are the hunted witches, as a result of a knee jerk reaction from a
large Medicare fraud case in south Florida. When CMS & BCBS,Palmeto got
caught with their pants down by violating regulations and making payments to
Unauthorized Vendors when Medicare strictly requires them to follow all state &
local laws & regulations(Florida state law requires all providers of O&P to
be licensed), they should have never paid Unlicensed Florida Providers,
but they did and when the news broke there ass was on the chopping
block......sooooo BCBS has made us the scape goat !!!
Medicare keeps a file on each one of us and how we fair in the probe/audit
process, when they start seeing they are winning some of these audits no matter
how small, it is recorded as a win for them and a cause for more probes to
show CMS they are catching us (the bad guys).
You must beat them on every point every if you want them to go away.
At the Florida State O & P meeting in Miami I spoke to Alan Finneston and a
small group of guys about starting a class action law suit against CMS/BCBS
for false harassment, and intentionally driving small P&O companies out of
business to cover there mistakes, but to this day I have not gotten any support.
Unfortunatly our National organizations, which we pay and financially
support are again usless
Fight hard and don't give up, it hurts us all.
