I am please to announce in response, to the below post, that not only are
there honest practitioners, like Bobby Leaber CP of Adaptive Prosthetic &
Orthotics in Louisiana (he has provided thus far service to two evacuees at
no charge for his services ) stepped up to assist hurricane amputee
evacuees, but many manufactures as well.
Both amputees Bobby refitted, lost their prostheses escaping the flooding.
The Barr Foundation as coordinated prosthetic component donations from ALPS
South Euro-International,Fillauer, Ohio Willow Wood and Bull Dog Tools.
Any other manufactures that want to help out, let us know. We will qualify
the applicant and provide tax deductible receipts for the in kind donations.
Providers whom want to charge ANYONE for their services for the prosthetic
rehabilitation of Hurricane evacuee AMPUTEES need not apply :)
Who says the industry members and 'profession' don't have big hearts ?
Thank you for your support.

This is number seven in a series of posts from people who have made services
available. From what I recently read from the gentleman who returned from
Mississippi, the need for honest professionals to come forward is great.
The shysters will only serve to dishonor your profession.
Please add my clinic to your list of those available to help displaced
amputee storm victims. ABC certified and Florida licensed. Free
adjustments and repairs, and liaison for supplies and components.

Anyone else interested in offering assistance to the people of Katrina/Rita
may send your offers to:

and an additional listing of new volunteers will be posted to AMP-L and
OANDP-L with implied permission to repost to other amputee resources.
The Academy is hosting a list of those offering assistance.
thanks
