Terminal Device Bands vs Springs

Text:
I have a young, very active client who has bilateral trans-radial
amputations. He wears both conventional, and myoelectric type prostheses depending on
activity. He currently uses 6-8 standard bands on his terminal devices and
seems to go through these monthly at best.
I was considering switching to the ring type bands but see that it takes 3
rings to replace 4 bands which doesn't really gain much. I have no experience
using the stainless steel springs for tension, and would like feedback as to
durability, and ease of operation. Also, how many rubber bands do the springs
replace?
I appreciate your attention.
