Each week the Barr Foundation sends a post and salute to honor a person (s)
or Hope Donor (s) whom has made a great difference in a life.
This week we are saluting multiple donors ,people whom have made great
differences in many lives !!.
To date many O& P providers and manufactures have offered to come to the
aide of displaced Hurricane Katrina amputees for their prosthetic needs.
It make be proud the Barr Foundation can play a small role to further
assist those efforts.
However, the Barr Foundation , will not solicit manufactures to donate any
prosthetic components and supplies for providers whom intend to bill
patients or third party payers for them !! We are accountable to the donors
of these items.
> It appears from one provider comments below in response to our offer to
> help, is that his facilities would be charging insurance providers for
> services and for potential donations of components donated by
> manufacturers thru the Barr Foundation for Katrina evacuee amputees !!
>
We thank this provider for making their mission and goal in this relief
effort clearer before we solicited anyone on their behalf.
> The Barr Foundation will not solicit for donated prosthetic components
> and supplies from manufactures for any provider who intends to charge the
> patient or third party payers.
>
> We will reserve our solictations from qualified providers to manufacturers
> for donated components and supplies and exclusively for folks that have
> no other financial resources and that the provider agrees not to bill nor
> collect on the donated materials TO ANY SOURCES !
>
> Our guidelines are further outlined below. If we can assist any legitimate
> requests, please let us know.
Such Whole Again stories hopefully will help make your weekend and to
remind you, knowing that most of you whom became professionals and industry
providers, got into this business to help people, and that you are
accomplishing allot and are appreciated by those that you help.
Thank you and have a great weekend.
