Hi everyone

I have a patient that I hope I can get some help with. I have never seen
this before so I hope
one of you have.

This is a 32 year old active male that was in a MVA that crushed his left
elbow (proximal ulna and radius, and distal humerus). From the xray I can see
that the proximal radius and ulna are broken but still there. Approx. 1/3 of
the distal humerus is missing. Patient had surgery and external fixator was on
for approx. 6 months. That was removed last month and patent was told there is
nothing else that can be done surgically. The doctor wrote the patient a
script for a hinged elbow brace-adjustable and lockable at different angles.
Patient has normal ROM in shoulder and he can move his fingers and wrist. He said
the doctors don't understand how he can have this movement.

I am thinking along the lines of a UE metal elbow joints that may lock at
different angles and a figure 9 harness, this is just a first thought and I
could really use everyone's input.

Thank You in Advance
