This week's Barr Foundation salute goes to the family and friends of Jared
Frias of Redwood Shores,California.
Jared Frias, a amputee since 1998 as the result of a car accident, was
killed July 12 while vacationing in Puerto Rico with family friend Eduardo
Perez, during a flash flood. Jared played football with a prosthetic leg
fitted to his Ertl limb.
Jared was a mechanical engineering student at Foothill College in California
and dreamed of joining the Barr Foundation in their amputee assistance
efforts and to design a better prosthesis.

The Barr Foundation salutes Jared, his fiance Melissa McCartney Edurado and
their family and friends.
The celebration of Jared's life is scheduled for August 27 but the family is
still attempting to locate a facility large enough, in the San Franciso Bay
area, for over 400 people expected and whom plan on attending.
If anyone has any ideas as to an appropiate location in the Bay area for
the Celebration Of Life service for Jared and Eduardo we woud appreciate
receiving them.
Each week we will send a post and similar salute to a person or Hope Donor
whom has made a great difference in a life.
Such Whole Again stories hopefully will help make your weekend and to
remind you, knowing that most of you whom became professionals and industry
providers, got into this business to help people, that you are accomplishing
allot and are appreciated.
