Dear List Members,
I'm working with an AK amputee who is considering obtaining a prosthesis for use in saltwater. He can ambulate well, but does not do any high-level sporting activities. He is considering swimming/snorkeling with the prosthesis on. He's considering the Aulie knee, Swim foot combination. Any experience with providing this type of prosthesis? His definitive prosthesis includes a silicone liner with lanyard. Is this the best option for suspension of the swim prosthesis? Is it better to recommend that he wear the prosthesis to and from the water, but not in it?
Any ideas are appreciated.
