Dear List:
I have a trans-tibial patient with a fused hip at 18 degrees and a fused knee at 20 degrees. He is self employed, very active and has been wearing a locking insert for several years. He must remove his socket every time he sits down. His vocation is such that he is up and down and in and out of cars several times each day. As he ages, his flexibility is less and he can no longer easily reach the release button for the locking mechanism.(Currently he releases the lock by banging it with his cane!)
Does anyone know of a remote release for a smooth pin locking mechanism that is reliable and can be placed at the proximal margin of the socket? Thanks very much.
