I was very surprised to see your message on the list serve message board.
My name is Stuart Marquette, C.O. and I am the Vice President and Technical
Director at DAW Industries. Many of your statements were obviously obtained
from uninformed sources. To obtain the correct information, please contact
me directly at 800-242-8669.

The SLK not only contains a microprocessor, the microprocessor is just one
section of a very advanced microcontroller that also monitors battery
function as well as RAM and PROM functions. This is the most advanced
technology used on the market today. The existence of this microcontroller
has been confirmed to both AOPA and the AAOP. I am afraid your information
considering the L-coding committee recommendations is outdated and several
years old at best. If you have received any information from any source
that is contrary, please forward it to me so that I can make sure the
information is corrected and not distributed inaccurately.

I am also interested in your statement that a ^ÓDAW Sales Representative^Ô
told you that we would not put you in contact with a Practitioner utilizing
the SLK. This is not a DAW policy, again, when you contact me personally,
I will provide you with such information. The knee unit does contain stance
resistance and there are many amputees successfully walking down stairs and
ramps using this knee.

I am sorry that you have received false and inaccurate information
concerning this product, I look forward to hearing from you soon.
