Thank you all for the suggestions and replies. The original post is listed
at the end of this email. The replies have been compiled to provide each
prosthetic foot suggestion and the number of recommendations for each.
Manufacturer Model # of Recommendations
Ossur/Flexfoot Axia 2
Ossur/Flexfoot Elation 1
Hosmer Quantum 2
Otto Bock Axion 1
Freedom Innovations Runway 5
College Park True Step 1
Additionally I received a recommendation to add a thin layer of crepe on the
sole of the foot shell to increase its durability as well as one to add a
thin layer of crepe or leather inside the foot shell to do the same.

I am looking for opinions and experience with foot choices for the following
person. An active mid 30s congenital BK amputee with a longer residual limb
(meaning that I have about 4 of space under the socket to use), presents
for a new prosthesis. Her foot, a carbon laminated type, has done well but
has started delaminating and she has worn through her foot shells (her
third). Her socket is worn beyond repair as well, so a replacement is in
order.
She is asking if there are any durable feet out there that will give her
similar performance as the luxon, flexfoot, springlite type, are low in
weight, but that have the split toe as the Seattle feet have. She misses
wearing the footwear that the split toe allows.
One more thing...she knows she should not, but walks barefoot quite often.
I am hesitant to modify a foot shell to make it a split toe as I do not want
to impact any warranty or increase the product liability risk.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Brett Saunders, CPO
