Out of their strong commitment to improving the quality of life for
amputees around the world, this Friday night, July 15th , Two Parrots
Prouctions is hosting an uplifting event in Miami Beach for amputees and
those who support them.
This event, which will include several speakers from around the country,
celebrates the Florida premier of the documentary film, A Mile In My Shoe,
a story about a courageous young man who lost his leg in a tragic firearm
accident. Rather than withdraw from life after his amputation, this film
illustrates his commitment to rehabilitation and his determination to get
back in the saddle.
I request that you spread the word among your patients and colleagues, so
that people who could benefit from a good dose of motivation and inspiration
can be in attendance.
More information regarding the venue and ticket reservation (only $10!) is
attached as a word document. WE WILL SELL OUT before Friday, so order your
tickets asap. I hope to see you there!
Whole Again
>From Disability to Empowerment
On Friday, July 15, at 8:30pm, the Miami Beach Cinematheque Theatre will
host the Florida Premier of A Mile In My Shoe, a documentary film about a
man who chose to have his leg amputated following a traumatic firearm
accident.
As part of the theatre's social activism theme, amputees from around the
country will be flying in to shatter the stereotypes and social stigma
surrounding amputation. With a commitment to being whole again, these
speakers will share stories that will be sure to motivate and inspire the
entire audience - amputee or not.
Provocative issues such as health care fraud, insufficient insurance
coverage, and surgical alternatives will be also discussed. Audience
participation is highly requested.
Among those attending will be the Director of the film, Lisa Mongillo, the
subject of the film, Patrick Vest, the President of the Barr Foundation,
Tony Barr, cross-country bicyclist Dan Sheret, and others.
In celebration of the premier, wine and snacks will be served directly
following the event.
The Cinematheque Theatre is located at 512 Espanola Way, Miami Beach, FL
33139. Tickets are $10 each. Seating is very limited, and the EVENT WILL
SELL OUT. Advanced ticket purchase is available through www.mbcinema.com.
FOR ANYONE WHO CAN'T MAKE THE EVENT - Please contact me if you'd like to
have a screening at your facility, or visit the website www.TwoParrot.com to
