Thanks to all who responded!
Got some good ideas and will be looking into some other options. Below
are the replies I received.
I have used American Custom Made Shoes to make them for me. They are a
lot cheaper, $249.00 compared to $380.
OTS does the Arizona-type brace all the time, and we don't take a month
to
do them either. Even the most involved and difficult ones take less than
two
weeks. We try to keep them down to a week in-house, giving them plenty
of
time for the leather to mold properly.Drop us a line if you're
interested. 800-221-4769. We specialize in all aspects of lower
extremity orthotics.
Glance at any of our trade magazines and you'll find SEVERAL c-fab
companies offering same/similar products. Most if not all are lower
cost and MUCH faster turnaround. Good luck.
Brainer custom shoes makes an excellant custom gauntlet...Arizona
similar

Fabtech Systems in Seattle has made a few of these for me and I've been
happy with the turnaround and quality of work. Ask for Greg
ACOR makes an amazing leather brace, is fast and MUCH cheaper!
We have used Becker Oregon. I do not recall a long fabrication time.
I have used other companies and the result was poor. I hear Arizona has
a new material, hopefully it is thinner to fit into a shoe easier.
We use Tower Orthopedics and have had a little better luck than one
month turn around. Usually 3 weeks....
