Thank you Ed, for that announcement and your words of praise for one of the
most humble, respected, talented, kind teachers I have ever known. I was in
the 1965-7 pilot program at NU and had the honor and privilege of learning
from Mr. Hager [as well as from Mr. Hampton, Mr. Currell, Mr. Gehl, and Mr.
Fryer].

According to the June 22, 2005, Chicago Tribune Obituaries, Mr. Hanger died
on June 15, 2005 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. He was 89.

Mr. Hanger was one of my teachers at NUPOC in 1969-70. Thanks to him, Mr.
Gehl and Mr. Hampton, I have a career that I still enjoy today. Thank you,
Mr. Hanger, for your patience when I screwed up and your attention to detail
that I strive to continue to this day. May you rest in peace.

Prosthetics lost another great one!
