I received seven responses regarding my request for information regarding
experiences with the Cadence HP foot. I have been forewarned that if I purchase
one, the marketing will increase significantly. The individual who stated
this decided not to purchase anything else from Seattle Systems because of
their aggressive marketing. I also received an e-mail from my sales rep from
Seattle Systems stating he would quit bugging me.One individual who is a long
distance runner and has used different feet throughout his many years as an
amputee athlete stated it was not a bad foot, but there was a dead spot at mid
stance, the toe was too stiff causing him to vault and for the money there
were better feet out there from Freedom Innovations. Another individual stated
he had provided six so far and he and the patients were very pleased. In
general the response was positive regarding the function (especially plantar
flexing when walking down an incline), but there were negative comments regarding
problems with the cosmetic foot shell at the anterior proximal area where it
meets the foam cover. Another prosthetist stated he had one patient who
walked extremely well and told him it was the best foot he had ever had (other
than his own). Finally, one very experienced C.P. & amputee stated this
is the best foot I've walked since the introduction of the Seatle (sic) Lite.
While it did not perform better than the Ohio Willow Wood CCII, perceptually
it was lighter. A great product, perhaps prematurely introduced, but I feel
sure all minor issues will be resolved very soon.
