Hello everyone:
I am responding to comments about a Nextffest advertisement in Wired
magazine that pictures the C-Leg(r)...
Like you, I'm glad that the prosthetic industry and related
technological advances are being seen around the world -- whether
through Wired Magazine, Walter Reed, Washington Post stories, or the
television show Survivor. Not all stories are about C-Leg(r) or Otto
Bock, just as not every story is about Hanger.
There are some facts that need to be clarified:
The ad in Wired Magazine was designed and paid for by the magazine, and
is not a product ad but is promoting NextFest, a show about advanced
technology the magazine is sponsoring.
Otto Bock did not pay for this ad, did not supply the photo, did not
alter the photo, and did not have control of the ad.
Many, many clinics and Prosthetists who have fit the C-Leg have had
local, national and even international publicity -- not just Hanger. The
C-Leg has generated phenomenal awareness of the prosthetics field, and I
challenge all providers in our industry to use it to further you and
your patients needs, especially in this time of reimbursement pressure.
