If you have an orthotic, prosthetic or pedorthic license from the State
of Illinois and your original license(s) was issued before 9/30/2003,
continuing education credits are required for your renewal this
September 30th. The 30 hours of education must have been received
between 10/1/2003 and 9/30/2005 to qualify (see Rules below). Make sure
that you have your required number of hours of CEUs before September.
Individuals with an original license issued after 1/10/2003 will not be
required to have CEUs for that licinse only.

Section 1325.80 (a)(1) of the Rules state that CE (30 hours) must be
obtained during the pre-renewal period, which is the 24 months
proceeding the expiration date of the license. If the CE is gained
before that 24 months it cannot be used for credit for the renewal and
the applicant would be in noncompliance with the Act and Rules, which
could be a cause for discipline.
