Another RESPONSE to my post asking for a replacement for discontinued
Carbona spot remover to bond Orthoplast:
I don't want to be liable for any health hazards, but I am familiar
with the stuff you are looking for and it is NASTY. Tri-chloro-ethylene
is the junk, and it is like promotor as far as being noxious. If you
can smell it you are 1,000 x more ppm than recommended, if you spill it
on your skin it is absorbed into your bloodstream, no questions asked.
Still want to work with Orthoplast? YIKES!
An O.T. friend of mine from Mayo Clinic said other chemicals are
dichloro-ethylene. It is available from Sammons Preston as Universal
Bonding Agent Good luck. (Hopefully not downwind when you use this
stuff!)
