Hello Everyone!
We have a gentleman who has been a long-time user of a hip disartic.
prosthesis. We just made him a new socket and he has worn it for about 4
days. He came in to show us an angry looking rash throughout the whole area
where the socket contacts his body. He wears his underwear only- no stump
sock. He doesn't want to wear one if he doesn't have to. But, our question
is, will this rash go away? What is causing it? Could the new laminate be
extruding(?) or emitting chemicals that would cause his skin to react this
way? We have put the socket in the oven for a few hours to try to fully cure
the material (by chance!?!).
Would love to hear your thoughts.
 Thank you!
